Charles Cohen, CEO & Co-Founder, Probability

We have the pleasure in annoucing Charles as our key note speaker. After graduating from Oxford University in 1992 with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Mr Cohen worked first as political assistant to Rt. Hon. Robert (now Lord) Maclennan MP in the House of Commons. In 1994, he was recruited to create a new technology division of Band & Brown communications, a public relations firm in London. In 1996, he was appointed Managing Director of Thought Interactive, a new subsidiary of Band & Brown, developing on-line content management solutions for blue chip clients such as British Telecommunications and Readers Digest.

In 1998, he conceived and founded beenz.com INC, an internet currency programme. By mid-2001, beenz.com was valued at $300 million and had raised $90million in private equity. Originally chief technology officer, Mr Cohen became chief executive officer of beenz.com in 2000. The business was sold privately in 2001 to a US corporation. In 2002, Mr. Cohen's first book, "Corporate Vices" - an analysis of corporate cultures at the end of the 1990's - was published by Wiley Capstone. He was also elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Marcel Puyk, CEO, Cellectivity
Marcel is the CEO for Cellectivity, a leading UK mobile e-commerce provider specialising in mobile betting and  gambling applications. Cellectivity’s prime product Bet2Go is the leading mobile odds comparison and sportsbetting application in the UK. In addition, the company develops applications on behalf of large online casino operators and manages the mobile gaming and gambling portals on behalf of three of the 5 UK mobile operators. He has a passion for providing a great user experience and believes that mobile will be the next frontier to conquer for the online gambling operators.

Marcel worked extensively with early stage and fast-growing enterprises, particularly in the area of technology and media. Marcel previously held Board level roles at Vizuri, a fast-growing UK IT risk management services provider, at the BBC in a now no longer existing IP commercialisation subsidiary and at GorillaPark, one of the early leaders in the European incubator market, and which invested in early stage technology and media companies across Europe.

Richard Hewitt, Mobile Product Manager, Betfair

Richard is the Mobile Product Manager for Betfair.com. With responsibility for Betfair’s mobile channel Richard launched their first mobile portal and has recently re-launched Betfair’s very successful mobile sports betting application. Before joining Betfair Richard worked variously in Media, Communications and the Aerospace industries.

Robbie Guy, Head of Marketing, Wild Jack Mobile Casino

Robbie Guy is the Head of Marketing for Wild Jack Mobile Casino, one of the UK’s most loved mobile casinos. Working with Wild Jack since its inception, Robbie is in charge of overseeing and implementing all aspects of marketing and plays a crucial role in positioning the casino at the forefront of the mobile gambling market.

Prior to joining Wild Jack, Robbie spent considerable time learning the ropes of mobile marketing at one of Israel’s largest mobile phone operators. There he was in charge of training new employees and managing CRM systems. Robbie has a Bachelors of Arts with distinction from Haifa University. In his spare time, Robbie enjoys testing out new technologies and snowboarding.

Michl Posch, Head of Marketing, Intertops

Michl Posch heads a great team of marketing professionals at Intertops.com, the first ever company to offer online betting in 1996 and mobile betting in 2001.

Michl served as an officer in the German army’s special troops and he worked as a war correspondent in Africa and south-eastern Europe. He earned Masters degrees in Politics, Media Marketing and Direct Marketing. Whilst employed by media and hospitality companies, in which he held executive marketing positions in international environments, he became involved in the casino industry.

Matthew Welch, COO, Cecure Gaming

Matthew Welch is the Chief Operating Officer of Cecure Gaming, responsible for marketing, product development and business development for the Aces Royal, World Poker Tour, and Poker Million mobile brands. 

Previously, Matthew spent three years as Chief Marketing Officer of IAC/InterActiveCorp Personals, responsible for match.com marketing in 33 countries globally.  During his tenure, match.com became the global #1 leader in online dating. Prior to that, Matthew was Vice President of Marketing at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and Executive Vice President of Marketing for Hypnotic, the Los Angeles-based production company behind The Bourne Identity and The OC

In addition, he has worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and at New York advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Ammirati & Puris, where he ran global marketing campaigns for Kodak, BMW/Mini and Kraft General Foods. Matthew is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Georgetown University.

Charles Palmer, Co-Founder & Marketing Director, Mfuse

Charles co-founded Mfuse in 2002 and is responsible for marketing, sales and communication. Prior to Mfuse, Charles worked within the interactive and new media sector, successfully developing new media products and business growth for Icon Media Lab (Sweden) and Lost Boys Interactive Media (Netherlands). He started his career within the automotive industry, as a consultant for General Motors, Ford Design and Lotus Cars. Charles holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Leeds Metropolitan University and a Masters of Science degree from Cranfield University.

Philip Agathangelou, Business Development Manager, Orange

Philip is a Business Development Manager for Orange UK responsible for the development of commercial partnerships on both web and mobile portals.

He has been Orange UK’s commercial champion in the development of its mobile gambling strategy and subsequent launch of its partnerships in this space.

Prior to Orange, he has previously held commercial roles at Wanadoo and Caschade ltd aka FoxyBingo.

Neil Andrews, Head of Mobile Advertising, 3 UK
Neil is Head of mobile Advertising at 3UK, where he oversees the advertising strategy across all digital touch points, including Planet 3. Neil's career highlights include McKinsey and Co, where he spent some time working on web projects, five years at Digital Rum, where he managed m-commerce platforms on mobile networks, and two years at Minick, working closely with operators to deliver content solutions.

Mike Higham, Business Development Manager, Vodafone

Mike has been with Vodafone for ten years. He is delighted to be part of this energetic and fast moving industry and he believes that an opportunity exists to give Vodafone users a first class and enjoyable user experience.

This will be achieved by working in partnership with their internal stakeholders the technical service providers and their Betting and Gaming clients. His responsibilities include Development of 3rd party enabler revenues & relationships and developing the strategic and commercial model for the Betting and Gaming category.

David Sheridan, Head of Legal and Commercial Development, MX Telecom

David has been at MX Telecom since 2002, with responsibility for contract negotiation, regulatory representation, policy and consultation positions.

Acting as the primary advisor for the regulatory concerns of in excess of 500 clients, David has extensive knowledge and experience of all regulatory considerations affecting service providers in the mobile space in several territories, reflecting the diversity of services facilitated by MX Telecom. Such knowledge and experience in the UK covers areas such as PhonepayPlus, the IMCB, Ofcom, PayForIT, all Mobile Network Codes of Practice, LBS, the ICO, the ASA and the Gambling Commission.

Robin Le Prevost, Head of E-Commerce Development, Alderney Gambling
Robin Le Prevost, a highly successful Business Development Manager was born in Guernsey one of the British Channel Islands. Having spent a significant part of his early working life working abroad, Robin returned to the Islands in the early 80’s. Working in a mixture of finance and start-up projects Robin joined the local government owned Guernsey Telecoms as Business Development Manager in 2000, a company, which was bought out by the global giant Cable and Wireless in 2002.

During Robin’s time with Cable and Wireless he assumed responsibility for the islands growing e-gambling community and in 2005 left C&W to set-up his own consultancy in the sector and was subsequently head-hunted to represent the interests of the Government of Alderney in promoting that Island as the leading Jurisdiction in the EGambling sector.
